Join us for our annual Joint Business Council Cultural Iftar for an authentic Emirati experience! The event will take place on Monday 17 April 2023 at the unique venue – The Sheikh Mohammed bin Rahid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU), Al Bastakiya – Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, Al Musallah Street, Bur Dubai, Dubai (location)from 6:30 PM to 9 PM.
The SMCCU Ramadan Iftar will take place in the wind-tower house in the heart of Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, the historical Emirati neighbourhood. The evening begins with the Athan (the call to prayer) followed by the breaking of the fast with the Emirati hosts. Guests can enjoy Arabic coffee and dates and then take a moment to watch your hosts pray, before a delicious array of Emirati dishes, served for Iftar. During the event, guests are invited to ask any questions they may have about Ramadan and the culture of the UAE. After Iftar, a visit to the Diwan Mosque is done while walking through the historical street, before returning to SMCCU house for dessert and tea.
This event is only for members and their guests, based on a first come, first served basis. Please mention in your registration how many adults and children with ages.
Please note that payment must be made in advance. Registrations are binding. As this is a very popular event, we encourage you to register and pay as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Only pre-registered members will be granted access on the night. Please note that the dress code is modest. Photographs/videos will be taken during the event.
